Surah Al-Baqarah 2:180 البقرة

كُتِبَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ إِذَا حَضَرَ أَحَدَكُمُ ٱلۡمَوۡتُ إِن تَرَكَ خَيۡرًا ٱلۡوَصِيَّةُ لِلۡوَٰلِدَيۡنِ وَٱلۡأَقۡرَبِينَ بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِۖ حَقًّا عَلَى ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ
Prescribed for you when death approaches [any] one of you if he leaves wealth [is that he should make] a bequest for the parents and near relatives according to what is acceptable - a duty upon the righteous.65

- 65 This ruling was abrogated by the revelation in Sūrah an-Nisā’ stipulating obligatory shares for parents and close relatives. Those who do not inherit by law may be remembered in a bequest. See 4:11-12.

Al-Mukhtasar
It has been decreed for you that if one of you is showing signs or causes of death and is leaving a large amount of wealth behind, then they should make a will to distribute it to parents and close relatives per the sacred law, which is not to exceed one-third of the wealth (the rest of the wealth would be distributed according to the laws of inheritance). Making this will is a firm duty upon those who are heedful of Allah. This ruling was established before verses about inheritance were revealed. When the verses about inheritance were revealed, they made it clear who was eligible to inherit and how much they could inherit.
