How much of the Quran this device has read. The figure at the top is your marked ayat out of all 6236, the counters under it count today and everything before it, and the list below gives every surah a bar of its own. Nothing is filled in for you: the page is empty until you mark something.

In this browser, on this device, under one key that only this site writes and reads. Nothing is uploaded, so no server here holds a record of what you have read. It also means a second browser or a second phone opens empty, because there is nothing anywhere for it to fetch.

No, and there is nothing to sign up for. Every number on this page is read out of your own browser rather than from a server, so your figures are there the moment you mark an ayah. That is also why it loads without waiting: there is no session to check first.

Open a surah from the list at the foot of this page. While you read, a green button with a tick sits at the end of the bar along the bottom of the screen, and pressing it marks the ayah you are on. On a phone the tick stands alone; the words Mark as read and the ayah number appear beside it once the screen is wide enough. Each press goes into the record this dashboard reads, so the surah bar, the percentage at the top and the counters all move with it.

It takes you back to the place you stopped, and the button shows that place. Once you have marked an ayah on its own page, that is where it goes; if you have only marked from a surah page, it works the place out from what you have marked. Before any of that it reads Start reading and opens the first surah.

How far into that surah you are, said three ways at once. The marker is an empty ring, a part filled ring or a solid disc, the name grows heavier as you go, and a percentage stands beside it until the surah is finished, when the word read takes its place. Print the page in grey and all three still read.

Hasanah today and hasanah in total, minutes read today, gems still pending, and how many days you have read on this device. They are counters rather than targets. None of them can break, and there is no streak here to lose on a day you do not read.

Not here. Open any surah from the list and the settings button on that page sets the theme, the size of the Arabic, the script and which translation sits under each ayah. Your choice is kept in this browser too, so the next surah you open already looks the way you left it.

The record goes with it and this page returns to zero. The same is true in a private window, in another browser and on a different phone, because the copy in front of you is the only one. There is no server copy here to restore it from.
