وَٱقۡتُلُوهُمۡ حَيۡثُ ثَقِفۡتُمُوهُمۡ وَأَخۡرِجُوهُم مِّنۡ حَيۡثُ أَخۡرَجُوكُمۡۚ وَٱلۡفِتۡنَةُ أَشَدُّ مِنَ ٱلۡقَتۡلِۚ وَلَا تُقَٰتِلُوهُمۡ عِندَ ٱلۡمَسۡجِدِ ٱلۡحَرَامِ حَتَّىٰ يُقَٰتِلُوكُمۡ فِيهِۖ فَإِن قَٰتَلُوكُمۡ فَٱقۡتُلُوهُمۡۗ كَذَٰلِكَ جَزَآءُ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
And kill them [in battle] wherever you overtake them and expel them from wherever they have expelled you, and fitnah69 is worse than killing. And do not fight them at al-Masjid al-Ḥarām until they fight you there. But if they fight you, then kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers.

Al-Mukhtasar
And kill them where you come across them and expel them from the place they expelled you from - which is Mecca. The calamity that results from preventing those who believe from worship and returning them to disbelief is worse than killing. And do not initiate fights within the Sacred Mosque out of veneration for it unless they start fighting you there. If they initiate fighting in the Sacred Mosque, then kill them. A disbeliever's death is the recompense if they attack within the Sacred Mosque.
