And Moses had certainly brought you clear proofs. Then you took the calf [in worship] after that, while you were wrongdoers.

Al-Mukhtasar
And your prophet Moses brought clear signs to you, proving his truthfulness. But after that, you made the calf into a deity and worshipped it when Moses had gone to meet his Lord. You were wrongdoers for worshipping others alongside Allah since only He is worthy of worship.
