And when you recite the Qur’ān, We put between you and those who do not believe in the Hereafter a concealed partition.⁷⁴⁹

Al-Mukhtasar

When you, O Messenger, recite the Quran and they hear the warnings and admonitions it contains, I place a barrier between you and those who do not have faith in the Day of Resurrection that prevents them from understanding the Quran as a punishment for their turning away from it.
