۞ لَيۡسُواْ سَوَآءٗۗ مِّنۡ أَهۡلِ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ أُمَّةٞ قَآئِمَةٞ يَتۡلُونَ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ ءَانَآءَ ٱلَّيۡلِ وَهُمۡ يَسۡجُدُونَ
They are not [all] the same; among the People of the Scripture is a community145 standing [in obedience], reciting the verses of Allāh during periods of the night and prostrating [in prayer].

Al-Mukhtasar
After highlighting the condition of the majority of the People of the Book, Allah mentions a group of believers among them who remain committed to the truth, stating:
The People of the Book are not all equal in their condition. Rather, there is a group of them who are upright in Allah's religion, upholding Allah's commands and prohibitions, reciting Allah's verses in the hours of the night while praying to Allah. This group existed before the mission of the Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم. Those among them who came to know of this mission accepted Islam.
