وَلَا يَحۡسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ أَنَّمَا نُمۡلِي لَهُمۡ خَيۡرٞ لِّأَنفُسِهِمۡۚ إِنَّمَا نُمۡلِي لَهُمۡ لِيَزۡدَادُوٓاْ إِثۡمٗاۖ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٞ مُّهِينٞ
And let not those who disbelieve ever think that [because] We extend their time [of enjoyment] it is better for them. We only extend it for them so that they may increase in sin, and for them is a humiliating punishment.

Al-Mukhtasar
Those who disbelieve in their Lord and stubbornly resist His legislation should not presume that their respite and the extension of their lives upon disbelief, just as they are, is better for them. It is not as they presume. We only grant them respite to allow them to increase in sin, with an abundance of disobedience on top of their sin. They will have a humiliating punishment.
