وَلَقَدۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَآ إِلَىٰ ثَمُودَ أَخَاهُمۡ صَٰلِحًا أَنِ ٱعۡبُدُواْ ٱللَّهَ فَإِذَا هُمۡ فَرِيقَانِ يَخۡتَصِمُونَ

And We had certainly sent to Thamūd their brother Ṣāliḥ, [saying], "Worship Allāh," and at once they were two parties conflicting.

Al-Mukhtasar

And we sent to Thamūd, their brother in lineage, Saleh (peace be upon him), telling them to worship Allah alone. But they split into two groups after he called them; one group was believers, and the other group was disbelievers arguing over who was on the truth.
