يَسۡتَخۡفُونَ مِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَلَا يَسۡتَخۡفُونَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ وَهُوَ مَعَهُمۡ إِذۡ يُبَيِّتُونَ مَا لَا يَرۡضَىٰ مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡلِۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ بِمَا يَعۡمَلُونَ مُحِيطًا
They conceal [their evil intentions and deeds] from the people, but they cannot conceal [them] from Allāh, and He is with them [in His knowledge] when they spend the night in such as He does not accept of speech. And ever is Allāh, of what they do, encompassing.

Al-Mukhtasar
When perpetrating acts of disobedience, they hide from people out of fear and shame, but they cannot hide from Allah. He is with them through His knowledge of them. Nothing about them is hidden from Him when they secretly plan to say things He is not pleased with, such as defending a sinner or falsely accusing an innocent person. Allah is well aware of what they do secretly and openly. Nothing is hidden from Him, and He will requite them for their actions.
