Surah An-Nisa 4:17 النساء

إِنَّمَا ٱلتَّوۡبَةُ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ لِلَّذِينَ يَعۡمَلُونَ ٱلسُّوٓءَ بِجَهَٰلَةٖ ثُمَّ يَتُوبُونَ مِن قَرِيبٖ فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ يَتُوبُ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡهِمۡۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمٗا
The repentance accepted by Allāh is only for those who do wrong in ignorance [or carelessness] and then repent soon [after].172 It is those to whom Allāh will turn in forgiveness, and Allāh is ever Knowing and Wise.

Al-Mukhtasar
Allah only accepts repentance from those who dared commit sins and disobedience due to their ignorance of the punishment and evil involved. This is the situation for everyone who sins, intentionally or unintentionally, then returns repentant to their Lord before their death. Allah will accept their repentance and overlook their sins. Allah knows the circumstances of His creation, and He is All-Wise in His decree and legislation.
