يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ لِيُبَيِّنَ لَكُمۡ وَيَهۡدِيَكُمۡ سُنَنَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِكُمۡ وَيَتُوبَ عَلَيۡكُمۡۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٞ
Allāh wants to make clear to you [the lawful from the unlawful] and guide you to the [good] practices of those before you and to accept your repentance. And Allāh is Knowing and Wise.

Al-Mukhtasar
By legislating these rulings, Allah (may He be Exalted) wishes to clarify His laws and religion and what is in your best interests in the worldly life and Afterlife. He also wishes to guide you to the ways of the previous prophets in allowing and prohibiting matters, their noble qualities, and praiseworthy lives so that you can follow them. He wishes to bring you from disobedience to His obedience. Allah is Omniscient about what is in the best interests of His slaves, and He legislates accordingly. He is All-Wise in His legislation and in managing their affairs.
