وَٱلَّذِينَ يَنقُضُونَ عَهۡدَ ٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مِيثَٰقِهِۦ وَيَقۡطَعُونَ مَآ أَمَرَ ٱللَّهُ بِهِۦٓ أَن يُوصَلَ وَيُفۡسِدُونَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمُ ٱللَّعۡنَةُ وَلَهُمۡ سُوٓءُ ٱلدَّارِ
But those who break the covenant of Allāh after contracting it and sever that which Allāh has ordered to be joined and spread corruption on earth - for them is the curse, and they will have the worst home.639
Translator notes (1)
- 639 i.e., Hell. Another meaning is (in contrast to verse 22), "...and they will have the bad consequence of [this] home," also referring to Hell.

Al-Mukhtasar
Upon noting the characteristics of the believers, Allah mentions the traits of the disbelievers who turned away, stating:
Those who break their pledge with Allah after it has been made binding and cut off the ties that Allah has commanded to keep are the unfortunate and wretched ones who will be distanced from Allah's mercy, and they will have a dreadful outcome in the Fire.
