وَلَقَدۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِكَ رُسُلًا إِلَىٰ قَوۡمِهِمۡ فَجَآءُوهُم بِٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ فَٱنتَقَمۡنَا مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَجۡرَمُواْۖ وَكَانَ حَقًّا عَلَيۡنَا نَصۡرُ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
And We have already sent messengers before you to their peoples, and they came to them with clear evidences; then We took retribution from those who committed crimes, and incumbent upon Us was support1153 of the believers.

Al-Mukhtasar
O Messenger, verily, I have sent many messengers to their people before you, and they brought evidence proving their truthfulness. However, the people rejected whatever their messengers brought. Hence, we took retribution from those who committed evil and destroyed them with Our punishment, saving the messengers and those who believed in them from destruction. Rescuing the believers and helping them is a right that We have obligated upon Ourselves.
