To Allāh belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth; He creates what He wills. He gives to whom He wills female [children], and He gives to whom He wills males.

Al-Mukhtasar
To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the Earth. He creates whatever He wills and bestows whomever He wills with daughters and whomever He wills with sons, or grants whomever He wills with both sons and daughters and makes whoever He wills barren and childless. He knows what occurs and what will occur in the future. This is on account of the completeness of His knowledge and perfection of His wisdom. Nothing is hidden from Him; nothing is outside His ability.
