Surah Ash-Shura 42:52 الشورى

وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَوۡحَيۡنَآ إِلَيۡكَ رُوحٗا مِّنۡ أَمۡرِنَاۚ مَا كُنتَ تَدۡرِي مَا ٱلۡكِتَٰبُ وَلَا ٱلۡإِيمَٰنُ وَلَٰكِن جَعَلۡنَٰهُ نُورٗا نَّهۡدِي بِهِۦ مَن نَّشَآءُ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَاۚ وَإِنَّكَ لَتَهۡدِيٓ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٖ مُّسۡتَقِيمٖ
And thus We have revealed to you an inspiration of Our command [i.e., the Qur’ān]. You did not know what is the Book or [what is] faith, but We have made it a light by which We guide whom We will of Our servants. And indeed, [O Muḥammad], you guide to a straight path -

Al-Mukhtasar
Just as We sent revelation to the prophets before you, O Messenger, We revealed a Quran to you from Us. Prior to it, you did not know about the heavenly scriptures revealed to the messengers, and you did not know what faith is. But We revealed this Quran as a light by which We guide whomever of Our slaves We wish. You show people a straight path, which is the religion of Islam.
