أَلَمۡ يَأۡتِكُمۡ نَبَؤُاْ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِن قَبۡلُ فَذَاقُواْ وَبَالَ أَمۡرِهِمۡ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٞ
Has there not come to you the news of those who disbelieved before? So they tasted the bad consequence of their affair, and they will have a painful punishment.

Al-Mukhtasar
Has not the news of the rejecting nations before you reached you, O polytheists, such as the people of Noah, 'Ād, Thamūd, and others? They tasted the punishment of the disbelief they were upon in the worldly life, and they have a painful torment in the Hereafter. Nay, that has reached you, so take a lesson from what their matter led to, then repent to Allah before what happened to them happens to you.
