فَعَقَرُوهَا فَقَالَ تَمَتَّعُواْ فِي دَارِكُمۡ ثَلَٰثَةَ أَيَّامٖۖ ذَٰلِكَ وَعۡدٌ غَيۡرُ مَكۡذُوبٖ
But they hamstrung her, so he said, "Enjoy yourselves in your homes for three days. That is a promise not to be denied [i.e., unfailing]."

Al-Mukhtasar
They slaughtered it, further increasing their denial. So Saleh told them: Take joy in your land for the next three days. After that, the punishment of Allah will come to you, and the coming of His punishment was a real threat that could not be denied, but rather, it was a truthful promise.
