At-Takathur التكاثر · Abdullah al-Matroud

أَلۡهَىٰكُمُ ٱلتَّكَاثُرُ ۝١

Competition in [worldly] increase diverts you

حَتَّىٰ زُرۡتُمُ ٱلۡمَقَابِرَ ۝٢

Until you visit the graveyards.¹⁹⁸⁰

كـَلَّا سَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَ ۝٣

No! You are going to know.

ثُمَّ كـَلَّا سَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَ ۝٤

Then, no! You are going to know.

كـَلَّا لَوۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ عِلۡمَ ٱلۡيَقِينِ ۝٥

No! If you only knew with knowledge of certainty...¹⁹⁸¹

لَتَرَوُنَّ ٱلۡجَحِيمَ ۝٦

You will surely see the Hellfire.

ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيۡنَ ٱلۡيَقِينِ ۝٧

Then you will surely see it with the eye of certainty.¹⁹⁸²

ثُمَّ لَتُسۡـَٔلُنَّ يَوۡمَئِذٍ عَنِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ ۝٨

Then you will surely be asked that Day about pleasure.¹⁹⁸³
