وَلَقَدۡ صَدَّقَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ إِبۡلِيسُ ظَنَّهُۥ فَٱتَّبَعُوهُ إِلَّا فَرِيقٗا مِّنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ

And Iblees had already confirmed through them¹²²⁸ his assumption,¹²²⁹ so they followed him, except for a party of believers.

Al-Mukhtasar

Iblis confirmed through them what he assumed, i.e., that he is able to lead them astray and misguide them from the truth, as they followed him in disbelief and misguidance except for a group of believers who destroyed his hopes by not following him.
