He said, "Rather, you throw." And suddenly their ropes and staffs seemed to him from their magic that they were moving [like snakes].

Moses (peace be upon him) said: Rather, you throw what you have first. So they threw what they had, and it appeared to Moses that their ropes and sticks were like snakes moving quickly on the ground due to the sorcery.
