وَمَا كَانَ لِنَفۡسٍ أَن تُؤۡمِنَ إِلَّا بِإِذۡنِ ٱللَّهِۚ وَيَجۡعَلُ ٱلرِّجۡسَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَعۡقِلُونَ
And it is not for a soul [i.e., anyone] to believe except by permission of Allāh, and He will place defilement541 upon those who will not use reason.

Al-Mukhtasar
It is not possible for any soul to believe by itself unless Allah permits it. Belief only happens with His will, so do not lose yourself in grief over them. Allah places torment and disgrace on those who do not apply their minds to His proofs, commands, and prohibitions.
