أَثُمَّ إِذَا مَا وَقَعَ ءَامَنتُم بِهِۦٓۚ ءَآلۡـَٰٔنَ وَقَدۡ كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَسۡتَعۡجِلُونَ

Then is it that when it has [actually] occurred you will believe in it? Now?⁵²⁸ And you were [once] for it impatient.⁵²⁹

Or will you believe after the promised torment has come down upon you when belief will not benefit anyone who had not previously believed? Is it now that you will believe, whereas before, you wanted to hasten the torment because you rejected it?!
