إِذۡ قَالُواْ لَيُوسُفُ وَأَخُوهُ أَحَبُّ إِلَىٰٓ أَبِينَا مِنَّا وَنَحۡنُ عُصۡبَةٌ إِنَّ أَبَانَا لَفِي ضَلَٰلٖ مُّبِينٍ
When they said, "Joseph and his brother585 are more beloved to our father than we, while we are a clan. Indeed, our father is in clear error.

Al-Mukhtasar
At that time, the brothers said among themselves: Joseph and his full brother are more beloved to our father than we are, whereas we are a large group. So why does he prefer them over us? We think our father is mistaken in doing so without an apparent reason.
