Surah Al-An'am 6:139 الأنعام

This is ayah 139 of 165 in Surah Al-An'am, ayah 928 of 6236 in the Quran, in juz 8. In the 604-page Madani mushaf it is on page 146.

وَقَالُواْ مَا فِي بُطُونِ هَٰذِهِ ٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمِ خَالِصَةٞ لِّذُكُورِنَا وَمُحَرَّمٌ عَلَىٰٓ أَزۡوَٰجِنَاۖ وَإِن يَكُن مَّيۡتَةٗ فَهُمۡ فِيهِ شُرَكَآءُۚ سَيَجۡزِيهِمۡ وَصۡفَهُمۡۚ إِنَّهُۥ حَكِيمٌ عَلِيمٞ

And they say, "What is in the bellies of these animals³⁵³ is exclusively for our males and forbidden to our females. But if it is [born] dead, then all of them have shares therein." He will punish them for their description.³⁵⁴ Indeed, He is Wise and Knowing.

Al-Mukhtasar

They said: The fetus in the wombs of these reserved animals, if born alive, is permitted for our males and forbidden to our women. But, if it is stillborn, the males and females will share in it. Therefore, Allah will justly requite them for this statement. He is Wise in His sacred laws and in handling the affairs of His creation, and He knows full well about them.
