Surah Al-Anbiya 21:79 الأنبياء

فَفَهَّمۡنَٰهَا سُلَيۡمَٰنَۚ وَكُلًّا ءَاتَيۡنَا حُكۡمٗا وَعِلۡمٗاۚ وَسَخَّرۡنَا مَعَ دَاوُۥدَ ٱلۡجِبَالَ يُسَبِّحۡنَ وَٱلطَّيۡرَۚ وَكُنَّا فَٰعِلِينَ
And We gave understanding of it [i.e., the case] to Solomon, and to each [of them] We gave judgement and knowledge. And We subjected the mountains to exalt [Us], along with David and [also] the birds. And We were doing [that].897

Al-Mukhtasar
We gave Solomon the complete understanding of the case but not his father David, yet We granted each one with messengership and knowledge of the sacred law, not exclusively Solomon only. We subjugated the mountains for David, which would exalt [Us] along with him. We also subjugated the birds for him. We were the One Who gave the understanding, the ability to judge fairly, knowledge, and subjugation [of the mountains and birds].
