Surah Al-Anfal 8:1 الأنفال

يَسۡـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلۡأَنفَالِۖ قُلِ ٱلۡأَنفَالُ لِلَّهِ وَٱلرَّسُولِۖ فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَصۡلِحُواْ ذَاتَ بَيۡنِكُمۡۖ وَأَطِيعُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥٓ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
They ask you, [O Muḥammad], about the bounties [of war]. Say, "The [decision concerning] bounties is for Allāh and the Messenger." So fear Allāh and amend that which is between you and obey Allāh and His Messenger, if you should be believers.

Al-Mukhtasar
Your companions ask you, O Messenger, about the war booty, how it should be distributed, and to whom. Say, O Messenger, in answer to their question: The spoils of war are for Allah and His Messenger, and it is for Allah and His Messenger to judge what to do with it and how to distribute it. You only have to submit and comply. So take heed of Allah, O believers, by complying with His commands and abstaining from His prohibitions. Resolve whatever is between you of severed relations and abandonment with affection, reconciliation, good character, and pardon. Adhere to obeying Allah and His Messenger if you truly believe because faith leads to obedience and staying far away from disobedience. This question was raised after the battle of Badr.
