وَمَن يُوَلِّهِمۡ يَوۡمَئِذٖ دُبُرَهُۥٓ إِلَّا مُتَحَرِّفٗا لِّقِتَالٍ أَوۡ مُتَحَيِّزًا إِلَىٰ فِئَةٖ فَقَدۡ بَآءَ بِغَضَبٖ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَمَأۡوَىٰهُ جَهَنَّمُۖ وَبِئۡسَ ٱلۡمَصِيرُ
And whoever turns his back to them on such a day, unless swerving [as a strategy] for war or joining [another] company, has certainly returned with anger [upon him] from Allāh, and his refuge is Hell - and wretched is the destination.

Al-Mukhtasar
Whoever turns his back to them, fleeing from them, not in inclination to battling them by exhibiting retreat as a trick from him while he intends to return to them, nor joining forces with a group of the Muslims present [on the battlefield] seeking support from it, then he will come back with Allah's anger and rightly deserve it. His place in the hereafter will be Hell. What a miserable fate and destination he reached.
