Al-Mukhtasar
Given that the love of wealth and children leads a slave to betrayal, Allah informs us that they are both sources of temptation, stating:
Know, O believers, that your wealth and children are only a trial and test for you from Allah, for they might obstruct you from working towards the Afterlife and lead you to treachery. Know that Allah has a great reward with Him, so do not lose out on this reward by [your] tending to your wealth and children, and treachery for their sake.
