Surah Al-Anfal 8:38 الأنفال

قُل لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ إِن يَنتَهُواْ يُغۡفَرۡ لَهُم مَّا قَدۡ سَلَفَ وَإِن يَعُودُواْ فَقَدۡ مَضَتۡ سُنَّتُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
Say to those who have disbelieved [that] if they cease, what has previously occurred will be forgiven for them. But if they return [to hostility] - then the precedent of the former [rebellious] peoples has already taken place.445

Al-Mukhtasar
Say, O Messenger, to those from your people who disbelieve in Allah and His Messenger, that indeed if they abstain from their disbelief in Allah and His Messenger and [abstain from] obstructing those that believe in Allah from His path, Allah will forgive them whatever preceded from their sins because Islam wipes out what preceded it. But if they go back to their disbelief, Allah's way of dealing with the ancients has preceded that, if they rejected and persisted in their disbelief, He hastened their punishment.
