أَوَلَمۡ يَهۡدِ لِلَّذِينَ يَرِثُونَ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ أَهۡلِهَآ أَن لَّوۡ نَشَآءُ أَصَبۡنَٰهُم بِذُنُوبِهِمۡۚ وَنَطۡبَعُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمۡ فَهُمۡ لَا يَسۡمَعُونَ
Has it not become clear to those who inherited the earth after its [previous] people that if We willed, We could afflict them for their sins? But We seal over their hearts so they do not hear.387

Al-Mukhtasar
Has it not become apparent to those who follow in the earth after the destruction of their predecessors among the nations because of their sins? Then, they do not take lessons from what befell them. Rather, they did their [very same] actions. Has it not become apparent to these [people] that if Allah wanted to strike them for their sins, He certainly would have done so, as is His Way? He seals upon their hearts so they do not accept any admonishment, and no reminder benefits them.
