۞ وَوَٰعَدۡنَا مُوسَىٰ ثَلَٰثِينَ لَيۡلَةٗ وَأَتۡمَمۡنَٰهَا بِعَشۡرٖ فَتَمَّ مِيقَٰتُ رَبِّهِۦٓ أَرۡبَعِينَ لَيۡلَةٗۚ وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِأَخِيهِ هَٰرُونَ ٱخۡلُفۡنِي فِي قَوۡمِي وَأَصۡلِحۡ وَلَا تَتَّبِعۡ سَبِيلَ ٱلۡمُفۡسِدِينَ
And We made an appointment with Moses for thirty nights and perfected them by [the addition of] ten; so the term of his Lord was completed as forty nights. And Moses said to his brother Aaron, "Take my place among my people, do right [by them],400 and do not follow the way of the corrupters."

Al-Mukhtasar
Allah promised His messenger Moses thirty nights for a private conversation with Him. Then Allah completed them with the addition of ten, so they became forty nights. When he wanted to leave for the private conversation with his Lord, Moses told his brother Aaron: O Aaron, be my successor within my people and make their affairs right with fine leadership and gentleness. Do not follow the path of the corrupters by engaging in acts of disobedience, and do not be a helper to the disobedient [to Allah].
