فَتَوَلَّىٰ عَنۡهُمۡ وَقَالَ يَٰقَوۡمِ لَقَدۡ أَبۡلَغۡتُكُمۡ رِسَٰلَٰتِ رَبِّي وَنَصَحۡتُ لَكُمۡۖ فَكَيۡفَ ءَاسَىٰ عَلَىٰ قَوۡمٖ كَٰفِرِينَ
And he [i.e., Shuʿayb] turned away from them and said, "O my people, I had certainly conveyed to you the messages of my Lord and advised you, so how could I grieve for a disbelieving people?"

Al-Mukhtasar
Their prophet Shuayb turned aside from them when they perished, and he addressed them, saying: O my people, I have delivered what my Lord instructed me to convey to you, and I sincerely gave you advice, so you did not take my advice nor yield to my guidance. How, then, can I grieve for people who disbelieve in Allah and are insistent on their disbelief?
