تِلۡكَ أُمَّةٞ قَدۡ خَلَتۡۖ لَهَا مَا كَسَبَتۡ وَلَكُم مَّا كَسَبۡتُمۡۖ وَلَا تُسۡـَٔلُونَ عَمَّا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ
That was a nation which has passed on. It will have [the consequence of] what it earned, and you will have what you have earned. And you will not be asked about what they used to do.

Al-Mukhtasar
That was a nation that has passed on like other nations. They have proceeded to the deeds they sent forth, and they will face [the consequence of] what they earned of either good or evil, and you will face [the consequence of] what you have earned. You will not be asked about their deeds, and they will not be asked about your deeds. No one will be held accountable for the sins of another; instead, everyone will be recompensed for their own deeds; thus, the deeds of those who came before you should not distract you from paying attention to your own deeds because, after Allah's mercy, nothing will benefit a person except his own righteous deeds.
