إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَكۡتُمُونَ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ وَيَشۡتَرُونَ بِهِۦ ثَمَنٗا قَلِيلًا أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ مَا يَأۡكُلُونَ فِي بُطُونِهِمۡ إِلَّا ٱلنَّارَ وَلَا يُكَلِّمُهُمُ ٱللَّهُ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ وَلَا يُزَكِّيهِمۡ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
Indeed, they who conceal what Allāh has sent down of the Book and exchange it for a small price - those consume not into their bellies except the Fire. And Allāh will not speak to them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them. And they will have a painful punishment.

Al-Mukhtasar
Those who hide what Allah revealed in the scriptures and the signs of the truth and prophethood of Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم – as the Jews and Christians did, in exchange for getting something menial in return for what they hide, such as leadership, status or money – they only eat into their bellies that which will cause them to suffer in the Fire. And on the Day of Resurrection, Allah will not speak to them with what they will like, but rather what will cause them grief; He will not praise them nor purify them [of their misdeeds], and they will receive a painful punishment.
