And of the people is he whose speech pleases you in worldly life, and he calls Allāh to witness as to what is in his heart, yet he is the fiercest of opponents.

Al-Mukhtasar
There is a type of person who is a Hypocrite, but his speech concerning the life of this world impresses you, O Prophet, which may lead you to consider him to be sound of mind and even honest and sincere because of his words. However, he only means to protect himself and his financial interests. He calls Allah to witness that he has faith and goodness in his heart while he is, in fact, lying; he bears great hostility and hatred for the Muslims.
