Surah Al-Fath 48:10 الفتح

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُبَايِعُونَكَ إِنَّمَا يُبَايِعُونَ ٱللَّهَ يَدُ ٱللَّهِ فَوۡقَ أَيۡدِيهِمۡۚ فَمَن نَّكَثَ فَإِنَّمَا يَنكُثُ عَلَىٰ نَفۡسِهِۦۖ وَمَنۡ أَوۡفَىٰ بِمَا عَٰهَدَ عَلَيۡهُ ٱللَّهَ فَسَيُؤۡتِيهِ أَجۡرًا عَظِيمٗا
Indeed, those who pledge allegiance to you, [O Muḥammad] - they are actually pledging allegiance to Allāh. The hand1508 of Allāh is over their hands.1509 So he who breaks his word only breaks it to the detriment of himself. And he who fulfills that which he has promised Allāh - He will give him a great reward.

Al-Mukhtasar
Those of the people of Mecca who pledged allegiance to you, O Messenger, during the Pledge of Satisfaction to fight the Meccan polytheists are pledging allegiance to Allah. Allah is the One who ordered them to fight the polytheists, and He is the One who rewards them. The Hand of Allah is above their hands at the time of giving the pledge, and He is aware of them, and nothing is hidden from Him. So, he who breaches his pledge and fails to fulfill the promise he made to Allah in terms of supporting His religion shall bear the harm of breaking his pledge. Allah is not harmed by this, and whoever fulfills what he promised Allah in terms of supporting His religion, He will give him a great reward, which is Paradise.
