وَإِذَا تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ءَايَٰتُنَا بَيِّنَٰتٖ مَّا كَانَ حُجَّتَهُمۡ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُواْ ٱئۡتُواْ بِـَٔابَآئِنَآ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ
And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, their argument is only that they say, "Bring [back] our forefathers, if you should be truthful."

Al-Mukhtasar
When you recite Our clear verses to the polytheists who deny the resurrection, they have no proof which they can use except their saying to the Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم and his Companions: Bring our dead fathers back to life if you are true in your claim that we will be resurrected after our death.
