هُوَ ٱلَّذِي بَعَثَ فِي ٱلۡأُمِّيِّـۧنَ رَسُولٗا مِّنۡهُمۡ يَتۡلُواْ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ وَيُزَكِّيهِمۡ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ وَٱلۡحِكۡمَةَ وَإِن كَانُواْ مِن قَبۡلُ لَفِي ضَلَٰلٖ مُّبِينٖ
It is He who has sent among the unlettered [Arabs] a Messenger from themselves reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book [i.e., the Qur’ān] and wisdom [i.e., the sunnah] - although they were before in clear error -

Al-Mukhtasar
He is the One who sent among the Arabs who do not read nor write a Messenger of their kind, reciting upon them the verses which He sent down to him, purifying them of disbelief and poor character, and teaching them the Quran and sunnah (the way of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم). And indeed, before he was sent to them, they were in misguidance from the clear truth when they would worship idols, spill blood, and sever kinship ties.
