تَرَىٰ كَثِيرٗا مِّنۡهُمۡ يَتَوَلَّوۡنَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْۚ لَبِئۡسَ مَا قَدَّمَتۡ لَهُمۡ أَنفُسُهُمۡ أَن سَخِطَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَفِي ٱلۡعَذَابِ هُمۡ خَٰلِدُونَ
You see many of them becoming allies of those who disbelieved [i.e., the polytheists]. How wretched is that which they have put forth for themselves in that Allāh has become angry with them, and in the punishment they will abide eternally.

Al-Mukhtasar
You will see, O Messenger, many of the disbelievers from among the Jews showing affection towards the Christians and inclining towards them. At the same time, they oppose you and the believers who worship Allah alone. How evil it is that they take the disbelievers as allies. For this reason, Allah is angry with them and will place them in the Fire, where they will reside eternally and never leave.
