The people of Noah denied before them, and they denied Our servant and said, "A madman," and he was repelled.

Al-Mukhtasar
After mentioning the disbelievers turning away from the call of our Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم, Allah consoles him by informing him that the previous nations also rejected their messengers. He states:
Before these people rejected your invitation, O Messenger, the people of Noah also rejected. They rejected Our slave, Noah (peace be upon him), when We sent him to them. They said that He was insane, and they rebuked him with various forms of swearing, abuse, and threats if he did not stop inviting them.
