مَّا يَفۡعَلُ ٱللَّهُ بِعَذَابِكُمۡ إِن شَكَرۡتُمۡ وَءَامَنتُمۡۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ شَاكِرًا عَلِيمٗا
What would Allāh do with [i.e., gain from] your punishment if you are grateful and believe? And ever is Allāh Appreciative228 and Knowing.

Al-Mukhtasar
There is no need for Allah to punish you if you are thankful to Him and believe. He is the One who is Kind and Merciful. He only punishes you for your sins. If you rectify your actions, you are thankful to Him for His favors and believe in Him both outwardly and inwardly, He will never punish you. Allah is Ever-Grateful to the person who acknowledges His favors, and the reward for them is abundant. He is All-Knowing regarding the faith of His creation and will requite every person for his actions.
