Surah An-Nisa 4:62 النساء

فَكَيۡفَ إِذَآ أَصَٰبَتۡهُم مُّصِيبَةُۢ بِمَا قَدَّمَتۡ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ ثُمَّ جَآءُوكَ يَحۡلِفُونَ بِٱللَّهِ إِنۡ أَرَدۡنَآ إِلَّآ إِحۡسَٰنٗا وَتَوۡفِيقًا
So how [will it be] when disaster strikes them because of what their hands have put forth and then they come to you swearing by Allāh, "We intended nothing but good conduct and accommodation."

Al-Mukhtasar
How will the hypocrites' situation be when calamities befall them because of the sins they committed? Then, they will come to you, O Messenger, making excuses to you, swearing by Allah: We did not intend by choosing someone else to judge between us except to bring about the best result and reconciliation for the feuding parties. They are lying about that. The best result is in resorting to the judgment of Allah's law between His slaves.
