And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous.1299

- 1299 This verifies that the firstborn son who was to be sacrificed was Ishmael and not Isaac, as claimed by the Jews and Christians.

Al-Mukhtasar
And We gave him glad tidings of another son, Isaac, who would become a prophet and a pious slave, as a reward for his obedience to Allah by resolving to slaughter his only son, Ishmael.
