And We made from among them leaders guiding by Our command when they were patient and [when] they were certain of Our signs.

Al-Mukhtasar
And We made some Israelites be leaders whom the people would emulate and follow. They became guides to the truth when they were patient in calling others to Allah, complied with the commands of Allah, avoided His prohibitions, and firmly believed in His words revealed to their Messengers.
