Surah Ash-Shura 42:16 الشورى

وَٱلَّذِينَ يُحَآجُّونَ فِي ٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا ٱسۡتُجِيبَ لَهُۥ حُجَّتُهُمۡ دَاحِضَةٌ عِندَ رَبِّهِمۡ وَعَلَيۡهِمۡ غَضَبٞ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٞ شَدِيدٌ
And those who argue concerning Allāh after He has been responded to1417 - their argument is invalid with their Lord, and upon them is [His] wrath, and for them is a severe punishment.

- 1417 i.e., after people have accepted the truth from Allāh, in an attempt to turn the believers away from His religion of Islām.

Al-Mukhtasar
Those who quarrel with invalid arguments about this religion sent down to Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم after people have responded to his call due to the strength of its proof and have entered into it; the argument of these people who quarrel is void and holds no weight with their Lord and with the believers. It has no effect. They have earned Allah's anger due to their disbelief and rejection of the truth, and they will have a severe punishment that awaits them on the Day of Resurrection.
