Surah At-Talaq 65:2 الطلاق

فَإِذَا بَلَغۡنَ أَجَلَهُنَّ فَأَمۡسِكُوهُنَّ بِمَعۡرُوفٍ أَوۡ فَارِقُوهُنَّ بِمَعۡرُوفٖ وَأَشۡهِدُواْ ذَوَيۡ عَدۡلٖ مِّنكُمۡ وَأَقِيمُواْ ٱلشَّهَٰدَةَ لِلَّهِۚ ذَٰلِكُمۡ يُوعَظُ بِهِۦ مَن كَانَ يُؤۡمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡأٓخِرِۚ وَمَن يَتَّقِ ٱللَّهَ يَجۡعَل لَّهُۥ مَخۡرَجٗا
And when they have [nearly] fulfilled their term, either retain them according to acceptable terms or part with them according to acceptable terms. And bring to witness two just men from among you and establish the testimony for [the acceptance of] Allāh. That is instructed to whoever should believe in Allāh and the Last Day. And whoever fears Allāh - He will make for him a way out1699

Al-Mukhtasar
So if they approach the end of their 'iddah then take them back based on desire and excellent companionship or abstain from taking them back until they finish their 'iddah so they would control their own matter while [you are] giving them their rights. And if you wished to take them back or separate from them, then have two just ones among you witness to cut off [any] dispute. And come forth, O witnesses, with the testimony seeking the Face of Allah. He who believes in Allah and the Day of Resurrection is reminded by that which was mentioned of rulings because he is who will benefit by reminder and admonition. Whoever takes heed of Allah by complying with His commands and avoiding His prohibitions, Allah will make a way out for him for all that he falls into of strain and difficulty.
