أَلَا تُقَٰتِلُونَ قَوۡمٗا نَّكَثُوٓاْ أَيۡمَٰنَهُمۡ وَهَمُّواْ بِإِخۡرَاجِ ٱلرَّسُولِ وَهُم بَدَءُوكُمۡ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍۚ أَتَخۡشَوۡنَهُمۡۚ فَٱللَّهُ أَحَقُّ أَن تَخۡشَوۡهُ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
Would you not fight against a people who broke their oaths and determined to expel the Messenger, and they had begun [the attack upon] you the first time? Do you fear them? But Allāh has more right that you should fear Him, if you are [truly] believers.

Al-Mukhtasar
Why do you, O believers, not fight a people who have broken their covenants and treaties and who have strived in their meeting at Dār Al-Nadwah, to expel the Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم from Mecca? They started the fight against you in the first place when they assisted [the Children of] Bakr, allies of Quraysh, against [the Children of] Khuzā'ah, allies of the Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم. Is it because you fear to meet them in battle? Then Allah (may He be Exalted) is more rightful for you to fear if you are true believers.
