أَلَمۡ يَأۡتِهِمۡ نَبَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ قَوۡمِ نُوحٖ وَعَادٖ وَثَمُودَ وَقَوۡمِ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ وَأَصۡحَٰبِ مَدۡيَنَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡتَفِكَٰتِۚ أَتَتۡهُمۡ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِۖ فَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيَظۡلِمَهُمۡ وَلَٰكِن كَانُوٓاْ أَنفُسَهُمۡ يَظۡلِمُونَ
Has there not reached them the news of those before them - the people of Noah and [the tribes of] ʿAad and Thamūd and the people of Abraham and the companions [i.e., dwellers] of Madyan and the towns overturned?492 Their messengers came to them with clear proofs. And Allāh would never have wronged them, but they were wronging themselves.

Al-Mukhtasar
Has the news of what the lying nations have done not come to these hypocrites? What was done to them [the people of Noah, the people of Hūd, the people of Saleh, the people of Abraham, the inhabitants of Midian, and the villages of the people of Lot] in terms of punishment? Their messengers came to them with clear proofs and arguments so Allah would not have wronged them. Their messengers warned them, but they were wronging themselves because they disbelieved in Allah and refused His messengers.
