هُوَ ٱلَّذِي جَعَلَكُمۡ خَلَٰٓئِفَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ فَمَن كَفَرَ فَعَلَيۡهِ كُفۡرُهُۥۖ وَلَا يَزِيدُ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ كُفۡرُهُمۡ عِندَ رَبِّهِمۡ إِلَّا مَقۡتٗاۖ وَلَا يَزِيدُ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ كُفۡرُهُمۡ إِلَّا خَسَارٗا
It is He who has made you successors upon the earth. And whoever disbelieves - upon him will be [the consequence of] his disbelief. And the disbelief of the disbelievers does not increase them in the sight of their Lord except in hatred; and the disbelief of the disbelievers does not increase them except in loss.

Al-Mukhtasar
O people, He made you successors of one another on Earth. Those who disbelieve Allah and what the messengers brought, then the sin and retribution of their disbelief will come back on them. Their disbelief does not harm their Lord. Their disbelief only adds to their Lord's displeasure and hatred for them. Their disbelief adds only to their loss, as they will lose what Allah would have prepared for them in Paradise had they believed.
