مَّا يُقَالُ لَكَ إِلَّا مَا قَدۡ قِيلَ لِلرُّسُلِ مِن قَبۡلِكَۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَذُو مَغۡفِرَةٖ وَذُو عِقَابٍ أَلِيمٖ
Nothing is said to you, [O Muḥammad], except what was already said to the messengers before you. Indeed, your Lord is a possessor of forgiveness and a possessor of painful penalty.

Al-Mukhtasar
After mentioning those who deny the Scripture (Quran), Allah comforted and consoled His Messenger with what his brothers before him from the messengers suffered of rejection, ridicule, and slander, stating:
O Messenger, the rejection directed towards you is the same that has been directed toward the messengers before you. So be patient because your Lord forgives those of His slaves who repent to Him. However, those who persist upon sins and do not repent, for them is a painful punishment.
